The debt advice system in Italy is very weak, as there is no main provider on a national level. Instead charities and consumer organizations are the primary way of over-indebted citizens to access debt advice. Alternatively, over-indebted citizens must consult legal services instead.

In Italy the Government passed a decree march 17 2020, link to the full decree (in Italian) Here. Our associates are currently trying to find a short summary of the decree, as it is rather long and complex reading. The essense of the decree is to ensure the funding of:

  1. The health system
  2. Firms
  3. Households (support for wages and their debt, especially with banks)
  4. Fhe financial system (banks)
  5. Independent workers
