The debt advice system in Italy is very weak, as there is no main provider on a national level. Instead charities and consumer organizations are the primary way of over-indebted citizens to access debt advice. Alternatively, over-indebted citizens must consult legal services instead.
In Italy the Government passed a decree march 17 2020, link to the full decree (in Italian) Here. Our associates are currently trying to find a short summary of the decree, as it is rather long and complex reading. The essense of the decree is to ensure the funding of:
- The health system
- Firms
- Households (support for wages and their debt, especially with banks)
- Fhe financial system (banks)
- Independent workers
