DEBT advice & COUNSELING

Debt advice and counseling helps citizens get an overview of their finances and debt, and help them manage their finances in a way that improves their financial standing. Debt advice and counseling is offered at different levels, and the providers vary in terms of what kinds of advice or counseling they provide. The ECDN works to improve the quality and availability of debt counseling in Europe. This includes supporting national debt counseling services, so they can help European citizens overcome financial barriers. Another way in which we work to strengthen debt counseling in Europe is by informing and communicating about the services available in each country and what kind of services they each offer. In order to reach our goal of improved financial inclusion, it is important that we also work to enhance and improve citizens’ possibility to get high quality guidance and help to prevent or overcome their financial issues.

They have different organisations, associations and governments working to improve financial education and helping citizens fight over-indebtedness.
