As you might recall the president of the European Consumer Debt Network, Sandy Madar sent a letter to Commissioner McGuinness following the Roundtable Meeting focused on Best Practice in Debt Advice to thank her for the invitation, and today we received a reply. Sandy took the chance to further elaborate on the issues she touched on in her intervention. The experience and knowledge the ECDN has got through our member organizations, like Crésus and the work they have put in creating Dilemme, and the latest news from the ECDN Scientific Group, CoDes. In her reply the Commissioner expressed how she agrees with Sandy on the importance of improving debt advice services and that it is crucial in these times of economic and financial difficulties, and that the Commission will look at ways to help organizations like the ECDN help the consumers.
This is indeed good news for the ECDN and we hope to be able to bring you more good news soon.
