Exciting news from the ECDN

What a week it’s been. We have participated in the Strategic Dialogue Meeting on the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) Strand, alongside other stakeholders from the Civil Society. As of 2021 the Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) programme becomes a strand under the European Social Fund plus (ESF+). One of the tasks of the EaSI Technical Working Group is to make sure the voice of key stakeholders is heard when the EaSI Annual Work Programmes are being prepared and this Strategic dialogue Meeting was a part of this process. Prior to the meeting the ECDN and the other Stakeholders invited were asked to participate in a survey on the priorities of EaSI Annual Work Program. The results were presented at the meeting and it was interesting to hear the priorities and thoughts behind from the other participating stakeholders.

We are delighted to inform you that a short time ago our president, Sandy Madar was invited to be a part of the European Commissions advisory panel on Non-Performing Loans. This week she participated in the first of several meetings in the advisory panel, which will advice the EU Commission on the technical matters related to tackling the NPL in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The collaboration with the branch association SME United developed further this week as we had our first meeting with the Danish strand of their project Early Warning. The ECDN will work together with the SME United and assist in the process of creating qualified debt advice for small to medium sized entrepreneurs in Denmark, and hopefully also everywhere else where it is needed.

Last but definitely not least we are working on a new project in Portugal on Financial Literacy and debt advice and hope to have more exciting news about this soon.
